Modern chess with cards, combos, and coaching.

Easier Chess keeps the full board you love, then layers in a 68-card deck of power-ups, a guided tutorial, and a friendly Seer-powered engine that scales from Casual to Grandmaster.

Everything you need to learn and compete.

Tap a piece to highlight legal moves, pull cards from your deck, and keep track of timers while the Seer engine studies the board. Easier Chess mirrors the controls from the original app—Restart, Undo, Offer Draw, and Surrender—so you always stay in control.

Card-powered strategy

Draw from the 68-card deck (Pawn Boost, Rook Rally, Knight Leap, King Shield, and more) to turn classic chess positions into creative combos.

Guided onboarding

Tutorial steps from Welcome to Easier Chess through Strategy Tips teach players how to pick pieces, activate cards, and time their attacks.

Seer engine inside

A native Rust Seer engine powers the AI locally with tuned configs for Casual, Challenger, and Grandmaster difficulty.

Play anywhere

Native Android (Kotlin + Compose) and iOS (SwiftUI) clients share the same engine, card odds, and time controls.

Why Easier Chess?

Classic chess timers, undo controls, and draw offers live right next to combo-friendly cards. Capture pieces to reload your deck, pick the Seer difficulty that fits (Casual, Challenger, or Grandmaster), and follow the in-app tutorial as long as you need. The modern UI is coded in Kotlin, Swift, and Rust (all in this repo), so we can ship identical gameplay on every device.
